Top chef: dulces y famosos - Programa 1

Ricardo, be careful, don't hurt yourself.

(Squawk)

Mom!

Here!

(CRIES)

Ricardo!

What's wrong? (CRIES)

My love. Hey, what's wrong?

Love, what?

I didn't mean to... What?

(CRIES)

(LAUGHS)

It's not funny, mom. What?

Did you want to leave it there?

If you leave it there, its life wouldn't have had meaning.

This way, at least, it died with a purpose.

Yeah, but I'm not going to eat it, mom.

(Distant conversations)

Besides, I killed it by accident.

Are you threatening me? Business is business.

What's wrong, mom?

My love,

go inside.

Go inside and don't come out until we come to get you.

Okay? But what's wrong?

Nothing's wrong, nothing's wrong, my love,

but I need you to listen to me.

Go inside.

Go inside.

And what do you say I owe you?

Angela...

I didn't know you were home.

(ANGELA) I wasn't expecting you here either. Are you staying for dinner?

No, darling.

We were discussing something, but they're leaving now.

Is my nephew home?

He's not here.

Do you want to talk to me and leave Angela and my son alone?

Come and talk to me.

No, don't worry, Juan.

Whatever you have to discuss you can discuss in front of me.

There are no secrets here.

No secrets now?

So, have you told him that you stole from me?

That's a lie and you know it. I took what's mine.

That doesn't belong to you.

(ANGELA) Please, you're brothers.

Stay out of it.

I've been in this as long as you have.

Why would you have more? Look brother, you can extort,

you can traffic, you can even kill,

but you can never steal from family.

And you can't kill. I don't cross that line.

You have to have guts in life. You have to have guts, right?

If it weren't for me, where would you be now?

Let's see if you have the guts to take what's mine

and to mess with my family.

(PANTING)

(Country music)

Aren't you going to pay me? What do you mean you're not going to pay me?

(STUTTERS) They're already loading the drinks into the boxes.

Excuse me? -Well, I left the boxes there.

I left the goods and you pay me, man.

I'll pay you. -You're going to pay me.

You're going to pay me and you're going to pay me now.

Do you feed my three children? No, right?

You have no shame.

If I had known I wouldn't have unloaded the boxes.

Things aren't done this way.

I told you and... -Look, if I had known...

You should have said it earlier.

You pay me, you pay me. -A small setback.

Are you the famous Ricardo? Depends on who's asking.

I'm asking.

I'm the one who's been making these boxes for a month for you.

And now, you don't want to pay me? -I asked for a few days.

I don't trust even my mother, not even my mother!

I didn't have the pleasure of meeting you.

I've been told your boxes are the best.

Don't come to me with that now. Come with me.

I give you my word that in a week

we'll give you what we owe you.

And you give it back to me.

Two days.

Two days.

The transfer hasn't arrived for the alcohol we sent to America.

I know, Andrés.

That bastard Baena is trying to get in the way.

He must have gotten nervous. In the end, I'll rip his head off.

You know that when we hit the streets it's going to be war.

Fine, lower the price of the alcohol. We have to sell.

We have to sell...

Come on, it's okay.

Pharmacists say that tomorrow we can start with the distribution.

Tonight, we're going out.

We need liquidity for what's coming.

Good afternoon, gentlemen!

Come on gentlemen, we're falling asleep! Let's get to it!

Luis...

(SIGHS)

Damn. Good shot.

Benítez has come to report his nephew.

He says he owes him money and doesn't pay.

How much? A thousand boxes.

A thousand boxes? Yes, sir.

I think they're getting ready to move something new.

A drug.

What kind of drug?

I don't know, the truth is I couldn't find out,

but it is rumored around

that they're going to make a big hit. I was going to come and tell you.

(SIGHS)

Very well, thanks for the information.

Sure. You can go now.

Thanks.

Remember what happens to snitches.

Move!

Is no one going to sit down to eat today?

I'm coming, I'm coming!

I don't know why I've been in the kitchen all morning.

(Bells)

(Rock music)

Come on, you, the money. (ANDRÉS) Give us what you owe us.

I'll rip your head off, come on!

Come on, let go. Let's go!

(Slow pop music)

(Whistle)

(Whistle)

What are you doing there? Come on, get inside.

Don't smoke!

(STUTTERS) Gentlemen, I'm sorry, but we're closing.

The last drink, we're going to have it. Right?

Could you serve them one last one? Perico!

Go home, I'll close up.

(STUTTERS) Don Alfonso, you're going to need help

with the gate, it's heavy. Go ahead.

They'll help me here.

(STUTTERS) I don't mind staying. Pour me a drink.

Didn't you hear? Get out, come on.

(WHISTLES)

Alfonso, you owe me money for a long time, remember.

It might be because I couldn't go empty-handed.

But if you give me a couple of weeks... A couple of weeks?

And what do I do with you now? Huh?

Stay still, stay still. (ANDRÉS) That happens when you don't pay.

Oh my God, oh my God. Come here, damn it.

Look for valuables and money,

because I need to talk to Mr. Abascal.

Alfonso, you know what the rules are, right?

You either pay or collect.

I should kill you for the crappy alcohol you have.

If you kill me, you won't get your money back.

Boss, this is crap, there's nothing of value here.

Well...

These are bad news for you.

Boss, there's music upstairs.

I left the gramophone on. But there's nothing of value upstairs.

Yeah. No.

What's upstairs? There's nothing, there's...

Nothing?

Let's see.

There's nothing, Ricardo. There's no one!

Where are you going? Of course...

(Lively jazz music)

(Distant conversations)

("La llorona" - Nikki Kelly")

You're doing it terribly.

Not like that.

You have to keep the distance.

Are you tense, dear? Or do I make you nervous?

Slide smoothly, like this. Like this, come on, try again.

(LAUGHS)

That's better.

Do you feel it? It's like you're floating.

And now, focus, we can't lose the rhythm.

These people have paid to see us dance.

Dad?

My love, what a scare.

What are you doing up? You should be sleeping.

Are you okay? Yes?

Then go to bed. Go, rest. I love you.

(SIGHS)

Of course I grant you this dance.

Will you be able to keep up with me?

("La llorona" - Nikki Kelly)

And... "slow, slow, quick, quick, slow, slow, quick, quick".

Good morning. Good morning.

Hmmm... it smells so good, coffee.

You got up very early today. Hmmm...

Shall I make you breakfast? No, it's all ready.

Father, are you okay?

Father.

What happened to him? Nothing, nothing.

Last night, I fell down the stairs.

Ah...

Why didn't you tell me?

I hadn't been drinking, if that's what you want to know.

Don't worry, my love, dad is fine.

Just a little older and clumsier every day.

You're not old. Hmmm...

I'll call the doctor. No need, it's nothing.

It must be Gloria, she must have forgotten her keys again.

You stay here, father, I'll go.

I'm coming!

Why the rush, Perico?

(STUTTERS) How's your father?

Did you know? I wanted to stay, but...

but he didn't let me.

He almost didn't make it. I tripped and fell down the stairs.

It's not a big deal. What are you doing here?

I told you I'd handle it. I'm fine.

Always with that obsession to save electricity.

I've told you those stairs are very treacherous.

You're right, boss. Are you okay?

Were you here? I'm fine, I'm fine!

Perico, come with me, it's Saturday and we need to restock the drinks.

(SIGHS)

(STUTTERS) What happened?

(STUTTERS) I should have stayed, Don Alfonso.

They would have killed us both. (STUTTERS) Killed?

Who? We don't have much time.

I need you to help me.

(STUTTERS) Me?

This is all there is. Listen to me, Perico.

You have to get my daughter out of here.

Tell her you've inherited something, whatever you can think of.

But you have to get her out of the city as soon as possible, okay?

The little one will stay with Gloria, he won't be in danger with her.

Understood? (STUTTERS) Don Alfonso,

(STUTTERS A LOT) when I get nervous, I stut...

When I get nervous, I stutter.

Andrea knows me better than anyone, she'll notice.

She'll notice!

He wants her, I saw it in his eyes, he wants her.

It's closed.

That guy is capable of anything to get her.

(STUTTERS) Where do you want me to take her?

Didn't you hear me?

It was open.

I arranged to meet your father. With my father?

You mean Mr. Abascal.

Exactly. "Exactly, miss".

Ricardo León.

Nice to meet you.

I hope he hasn't promised you a job.

Well, more or less.

I'm sorry, but we don't need anyone.

And now, if you don't mind, I have a lot to clean.

Are you going to clean this by yourself?

If you like, you can start as an apprentice. Without pay.

But I warn you, I'm very demanding. I can see that, yes.

Leave it, leave it, you probably haven't held a broom in your life.

Please, leave.

Father!

Oh, the head of the house. Hey, my love...

My love, it's okay.

Hey, it's okay.

Hello, kid. What's up?

Good day, Mr. Abascal. Do you know him?

I see he hasn't filled you in.

About what, father?

Honey, let's go for a walk and I'll tell you.

(Knocking on the door)

It's closed! Don't worry, they're with me.

Let them stay, it's okay.

Perico, take care of the little one.

Perico...

Don't worry, I'm with him.

Father, can you explain what's going on?

Little one.

This is the head of the house.

What's up, champ?

Your partner?

I thought we could manage alone but the business isn't picking up.

Why didn't you tell me earlier? I could have helped.

I'm sorry, I couldn't forgive myself for failing you again.

I've told you to stop tormenting yourself.

Sometimes, you talk just like your mother.

It's not your fault what happened, it was an accident.

Father.

I'm worried that you didn't tell me anything.

He's a man with experience in restaurants and hotels,

you'll see it'll go well, you'll see. Trust me, my princess.

Do you trust him?

Of course. Father, are you okay?

Perfectly, let's go.

Let's go.

(Music box)

How are you, boy?

(WHISTLE)

(STUTTERS) We haven't opened... yet.

Now we have.

Hurry up.

Come on, stutterer. Pour me a drink, damn it.

Did you do it?

Come on...

And who is this?

Cheers! (LAUGHS)

What do you drink here? -Drink.

(STUTTERS) No, no, thanks.

I said drink.

Don't get nervous.

Hey, quiet, the artist's life is at stake.

(Laughter)

That's my boy.

Now you.

Leave the kid alone. -Come on, man.

We're just having fun. Show some guts.

Hey, hey, hey, hey! -Hey, hey, hey.

Without looking.

That's it! -Come on, go. (LAUGHS)

Hey, hey, hey, hey!

With guts, stutterer!

What are you doing here? Everyone out. -Come here, beautiful thing.

I'm fine... -Come here, come.

Hey, hey, let her go! -Let me go!

I said let her go!

I said let her go! Out!

Let her go! -Leave me!

Get out of here! I said...!

Drop the knife. Here we go...

Let's go!

Stay here. Don't move, okay? Don't move.

(Laughter)

The stutterer's face, kid.

Perico...

(Laughter)

Gentlemen, I have to ask you to leave.

What do you want, to play? -Let them leave.

You like the action, girl. -Hey, hey, what's up?

Are we gentlemen or not? -Thank you.

Please... -Hey!

(Commotion)

Come here!

What's up, Pablo?

Whose gun is it?

The gun is mine.

But there's an explanation. It's Julián's fault.

that got me heated. He started with the little knife.

(Commotion)

(SHOUTS) Fucking bastard.

Bastard!

Boss... What's up?

No, it's just... damn.

Damn!

Damn...

And you, next time you aim,

shoot.

Did he do something to you?

No, no...

Ricardo! Ricardo.

What's up?

I'm also glad to see you... Gloria. My name is Gloria.

Yeah... What are you and your men doing here?

I could ask you the same, right, Gloria?

Don't you remember the last time we saw each other?

I work here now.

What a shame.

What a shame you left public relations

because you look as beautiful as ever.

And you smell just as good. Ricardo, please.

Gloria!

What?

I'm very glad to have you in my business.

What?

I really like it when you get mad.

Perico! Perico.

Perico. Don't cry! Don't cry.

Come on, tell me everything, okay? -(CRIES) Okay.

Look, have a drink, okay? Come on.

Have a drink, come on.

Give me, damn it.

(PERICO MUMBLES)

Listen to me, find a little paper and write it down for me.

Okay? Come on, I'll help you, my dear.

In the end, I broke Pablo's nose.

He deserved it, right?

Let's see if he learns once and for all.

Gentlemen, we're covered! -I came looking for work!

We're covered, gentlemen, we're covered, there's no work!

What do you mean no? -Next month.

Come back next month, those not buying, out.

We're going to starve. -No, damn it.

We mustn't be pessimistic. -Francisco, we've been here almost a month

and we've already eaten the little you brought.

Let's have faith, okay?

Hey, hey, they're going to see you. -It's useless.

They will see you. -That it's useless.

Come on, come, go home, I'll be there soon.

I'll think of something, okay?

Put on your coat, it's cold. -Hey, hey!

What's he doing there? Come on, get moving.

Eh...

I'm looking for the person in charge.

I'm Francisco Márquez, they're expecting me.

Eh... Are you aware of the headaches

it can cause you? -Eh?

It will cause a big fuss, they've been waiting for me for a long time.

Are you here on behalf of Benítez? -Of course, Benítez, of course.

Go ahead, ask for Andrés. -Very well, I was getting upset.

Finally, where were you? Taking a walk.

What happened to you?

Nothing, nothing, I tripped and fell down the stairs.

It's okay, it's fine, everything is fine.

Thank you. What's this about Ricardo León here?

He's going to be with us as a partner for a while.

Do you know him? No.

But I arrived and there were some men

and that Ricardo guy explained it to me.

Are they still inside? No, they've already left.

Father, but we need to set rules.

You can't just arrive like that, with such arrogance.

All in good time.

You have to tell me what happened.

We need to talk about this, but now is not the time.

Okay? Another time.

Oh my God, oh dear.

I'm very pleased with the work of each and every one of you.

But it will be very good for us to share expenses...

And obligations, let it be clear, father.

She won't shut up even underwater. -Shhh!

You and I need to talk later.

I need all of us to fight side by side

to keep El Continental afloat. Oh!

Nothing floats here, not even a crouton in the soup.

Shhh! Quiet!

Well, can I ask a question, please?

Yes, of course. Eh...

Is all this going to bring more goods here, in the kitchen?

Because the truth is... -Excuse me.

Sometimes we don't know what to come up with.

I trust that everything will improve little by little.

("Downfall"- Lion)

(Bells)

(Groans of pain)

(Hits)

The food is almost ready!

Your wife is about to arrive for lunch.

Mom has hit it off well with her.

You won't dare!

(SCREAMS)

(PANTS)

I have kids, damn it! I have kids!

Don't worry,

when you're gone, your wife will take care of them.

Morphine!

It's morphine.

They want to distribute it throughout the city.

How, when, and where?

They have a network of pharmacists.

Please, don't kill me. No, no, no, no.

Calm down, Pablo, calm down.

He's infatuated with a girl.

He's partnered with her father in a downtown place.

No, no, please.

No, please, no, no.

Please, no!

Always so punctual.

Life is a constant war. People are afraid.

They have no jobs, no money, and morphine eases that pain.

What do you care, Baena?

Your business is different.

Do you know what happens when people

take that crap?

That, immediately, they stop drinking alcohol.

Tell me how we're going to maintain all this.

That's where I want you to come in. I want you to handle this.

Well, I don't think I can help you, Baena.

They contribute very well with us.

Just like you.

Even better, I'd say.

Clean yourself.

Your hand.

If there's war, businesses don't thrive.

Boss.

What do we do with the body?

(SIGHS)

Call my nephew,

let him take care of the body.

(SIGHS)

Perico, you can't take her. They're going to kill Alfonso.

(STUTTERS) Gloria, I'm scared.

But I have to do what he asks, right?

I'll talk to him. Come on, come on, come on.

For God's sake...

Don't take long, we're about to open.

Perico? And where is he going?

He asked me for permission to run an errand.

We're going to open, we need him at his post.

For the few people that come... He's nervous about the change.

Like everyone.

Will we still be under his orders? Of course.

Initially, everything remains the same.

I'm sure he'll monitor how we work.

Oh, no one can control you, dear.

I don't think they're very interested in the kitchen.

Well, they're missing the best part, right, my girl?

I'll update you. You better.

And have you already laid the tablecloths? I'm going...

Come on! Don't be lazy.

We're about to start with the distribution.

We're hosting an event for new clients.

Spread the word, let everyone know.

It's a whim, right?

She.

Whim? You're the whim.

And all this, look, all this is a whim.

Life is a whim, Andrés.

Don't take it the wrong way. It's strange to see you like this.

Like this, how?

Like this.

Aren't you happy?

Take care of everything.

(CHANO) Hey!

(CHANO) Andrés!

Gloria...

I need you to take Jesús. Me? No.

That boy will die if something happens to you, huh?

He knows you, he loves you, you'll take good care of him.

I'm not his mother, he only has you and his sister.

There has to be another way. I can't think of another.

And I can't risk anything happening to any of them.

Then talk to Andrea.

She's old enough for what she wants, explain the situation to her.

Yes? How do I explain that a mobster spared my life

because he's infatuated with her? Huh?

What do you want, for me to take the blame? Huh?

Don't worry, I'll talk to him.

Don't even think about it!

They're my children and I'm the one who has to protect them.

Stay out of it, please.

Look me in the face.

Look me in the face.

What's wrong with me?

You are the only thing I have. And they, the only thing I have.

I'm going to see how everything is going.

Gloria.

What do you want?

Stay over tonight.

I'm scared...

Don't worry, you'll see how we get through this, my love.

But let me do it my way.

"Signore.

Signore, sono Francesco, Francesco Marquessi,

arribato de la Italia. Para el vostro servichio".

Who let you in?

"Marchetti has all the doors of the world open, and one thing".

How did you get in, scarecrow? -No, no, no, no.

Sorry, sorry, it's just...

I'm desperately looking for work

and I made it up, I didn't know what to invent.

Eh...

"Gracie, io me ne vado.

Parliamo pronto, o no.

Usted la sua considerazione decide la...

la cosa, io..."

Where do you think you're going?

Next! -Yes, yes, me.

(STUTTERS) Give me two tickets to Paris.

For when? -For...

For the first one you have.

The next one doesn't leave for five days.

What...? Five? No, no, no, no...

No, what, son? But do you have money?

Paris is expensive, huh? -Yes, yes, I have.

Okay, give me two.

It's 100, okay?

Here.

Thank you.

Have a good trip. Next!

Pedraza del Río family. -Yes.

Don Juan María Feliciano. -Also.

But the whole neighborhood is here. Who's missing?

Do we have to invite all these people to the bar?

We have to make it trendy. -Trendy, he says.

Do we know who's going to be the waiter?

Water.

You stay. No, no, don't involve me, okay?

And who is this?

He was spying on us while we were talking.

And what a coincidence, look, he's a decorator.

Decorator, he says.

"Francesco Marquesi. Decorator from Italy".

Italian. Italian?

From Italy, he says.

An Italian spy. No, not a spy or anything, "decorator".

"Sono looking for work and my friend Benítez

told me there was a scandal but very good people

people and I am just a decorator".

Give this to Benítez from me.

Tell him it's an advance.

And get my chain back.

He knows what I'm talking about.

Yeah, the chain? What, the chain? I don't...

Tomorrow first thing at this address.

You have work to do. "Bienvenuti".

Peque.

"Scusi".

You shouldn't smoke, if Don Alfonso saw you...

Stop the nonsense. What's going on?

My father with a partner?

Nothing that... that I know of.

You all are acting strange.

Come on, Perico, we've known each other for a long time.

Open it.

What is this?

Paris?

Are you kidding?

But why? It's a...

A gift. I've saved for the hotel and everything.

Paris...

Thanks, Perico, but I can't accept it.

(STUTTERS) We leave in five days from the North Station.

It's very few days. We can't leave with this mess.

I can't leave my father alone.

He already knows. Yes, it was his idea.

Yeah, sure...

I don't know, I don't think anything will happen for a few days, but...

"Mamasuel "

"Madmoiselle".

That. So we're going, right?

# I'm probably minor,

as are the chords

in my life.

My melancholic life.

Chaotic only... #

Oh! -(LAUGHS)

You scared me. -Really? And these apples?

And that?

(LAUGHS)

Look.

Wine. -But so many things...

Oranges.

Vegetables... -I am so proud of you.

Oh, sorry.

Father!

Father, are you okay? Yes, of course, yes.

(COUGHS) Are you sure about the trip to Paris?

What will you do without me?

I'm very happy you're going. And the child?

Sorry, I didn't know you were awake.

Your brother... We'll take good care of him, dear.

I'm going to stay the night, you don't mind, do you?

No, of course not. Good night. Good night.

Good night.

I don't think he found it very funny.

(HUSHES)

(Pats on the mattress)

Don't worry about it.

You told me to stay so she would leave, right?

Gloria.

Gloria.

Trust me.

(Laughter)

She'll come, huh? She'll come.

I want a car. -It's going to burn, damn it.

Take it out. -I like it well done.

Boss, a girl. Look.

Ricardo León?

Is the girl someone's?

Who's asking?

(WHISPERS)

What's up, boss?

("Downfall" - Lion)

(Bells)

(Whistle)

Boss.

How did I know that pride moves you.

It takes family to have pride.

And I have no family. Sit down.

What a son of a bitch.

Please sit down. I'm not going to sit.

Where is Pablo? (SHOUTS) Sit down!

Do it.

Have the guts and do it.

The pain you and I feel is enormous, right?

But I understand you.

You don't understand shit.

You're exactly like your mother, the resemblance is amazing.

(SIGHS)

I don't forgive myself either, but that day,

I was only aiming at your father.

But in the end, you ended up shooting and killing my brother.

Do you understand?

Have a seat, please.

(Car)

Boss!

(Car doors closing)

What's bothering you?

You need to control your people more.

Where is Pablo?

Listen, Pablo has betrayed you.

And I hope that if someone betrays me, you do exactly the same.

Boss, boss!

Boss!

Move, move!

Pablo.

Did you bring me here to threaten me or because you're afraid of me, bastard?

Neither.

What I want is for nothing bad to happen to you.

Tough times are coming, nephew.

(SIGHS)

I'm paying for my guilt.

But you're going to pay for yours.

And yes, tough times are coming.

Are we good, nephew?

As always, uncle.

As always...

Good luck with El Continental!

To the car!

(Sad music)

Andrés!

Call the mother and see what money we can give her.

(SIGHS)

For us, Pablo.

You died for all of us.

But you died, you son of a bitch.

Not me, but you.

With Pablo's death, a stage ends.

And for him

a new path begins.

Parents, spouses, friends...

brothers.

You all work here because you want to make a living.

I have nothing to lose.

You do.

And I can't be responsible for your safety.

Because I'm not going to give up.

I will fully understand anyone who walks out that door.

To those who stay, I can promise

that I don't plan to give up until I win.

I have been able to give my family a decent life.

I'm with you.

I'm here too.

(Knocks)

I'm very sorry, ma'am.

Thank you very much.

(Rock music)

("Upswing" - Anthony Ranere)

Come on, gentlemen, more rhythm!

The decorator. -"Signore.

Pleasure, gentleman".

Wonderful space.

"Bellesimo. Ma lo vedo eh, lo vedo". What is it that "vede"?

If you want to do something, in the inside lounge.

In the "di" inside lounge?

(WHISPERS) My God... What do I do with this? It's huge.

"How do you want me to do this?

I am a great artist but"

It's just too little time, buddy. -Three days and three nights.

"Excuse me, ma'am, I am obsessed with my creation.

Ma'am. Thank you.

Oh, the Spanish lady".

We are going to present the best venue this city has ever had.

The Continental.

How are you doing?

We'll go faster when God stops entertaining the staff.

But I'm praying. And besides, look, he heard me.

Move your butt or you'll be the one who hears me.

How sweet you are...

Just these? I'll bring down the rest now.

We've seen everything, there will be security at every corner.

At the slightest suspicion, let one of our men know.

Alfonso.

Tomorrow we're going to have a lot of people, we have to be up to the task.

We will be.

Everything's fine, go inside, I'll stay out here, come on.

Boss, what's up?

Let's go to the warehouse, we can't keep up with the order.

All right, let's go.

Oh, what are you doing? Nothing.

What's wrong with you? Nothing with me.

Oh, nothing, you say. No...

I saw it clear as day.

What?

Find out if it's available.

If it's free and you don't want it, let me know, I'll sacrifice myself.

What nonsense. Stop the chatter,

we have an opening at the doors. -It's fantastic.

Dear Virgin, who would keep it.

Andrea.

We need to talk.

Yes, we should.

But you don't need to explain yourself.

Just make sure my father is happy.

Your father is happy with me, Andrea.

Do you know where he lives?

Ricardo, the new partner.

At the old station.

Perico, give me a bottle of my usual.

Where are you going?

To set things straight before we leave.

(STUTTERS) Just you?

Are you jealous?

Come on, give me a bottle and see if my bag is around.

Do you want me to come with you?

No.

You're right to go and tell him you're leaving.

Thanks for the advice.

You know I could kill her, right?

They'll come back from the party

and nothing will happen to her, Perico.

Watch the handwriting.

"Mamma mia, what beauty." Smooth talker!

How's it going? "Difficult".

I'll be back, father. Where are you going?

I'm grown up, right? Depends on what for.

4000.

Boss!

They're looking for you... (LAUGHS)

I thought you didn't like him.

They made me change my mind.

Welcome to my house.

And I thought with my father you had found a bargain.

Isn't it too late for them to be working?

Are you also going to tell me how to work?

No...

We have an order.

Shall we make peace?

With this whiskey? It's my favorite.

Can you tell me how you managed to set all this up?

Life takes turns.

I wanted to be a mechanic,

I'm very good at tinkering with things.

And you ended up tinkering with a bank.

Seems like I haven't stolen the best yet.

A real charmer. Another one?

I came to thank you for your help in getting the business going.

It's hard for me to admit it,

but we were in a critical situation.

Yes... I'm excited too.

I'm sorry.

(SIGHS)

Stay.

You don't say that to a lady.

We'll talk when I return.

I'm going to Paris with Perico for a few days. Also thanks to you.

Rest, tomorrow is a big day.

(Slow music)

("Hush baby" - Lana McDonagh)

(HISSES)

(STUTTERS) How did it go?

Don't be nosy.

(STUTTERS) But well?

Hey, stutterer!

Come here, come. -Come, we need to talk.

No, no, but...

Hey, hey! (PERICO) Let go!

Well, little stutterer. -Come here, where are you going?

Where are you going?

Where are you going, to Paris?

You, you, you, where? -I...

What? -Paris? As big as it is?

You've never left the neighborhood. Stay here, with us.

(JULIETA) Help me, please. (FRANCISCO) Let's go.

(JULIETA) Oh, oh! Ugh...

Look how nice.

Here, there you go. -Here, little one, for you.

And the big one, and go catch butterflies.

Come on.

Careful, it's full of mud. -Yeah.

And bugs.

If you sink,

we sink together.

Let's see...

(Sound of insects)

When you look for them, they're never there.

What madness.

I knew coming to the city with you wouldn't be a good idea.

What's madness is starving to death.

If it goes wrong, we go back to the village and that's it.

And if they kill you, what? -I won't be the first or the last.

Francisco, don't say that even as a joke.

That means you care.

Of course I care about you.

I worry about you.

What I don't know is what the hell we're doing here.

Oh! -Hey! (LAUGHS)

Oh, oh, I'm sinking. No! -I'm going to catch butterflies!

Hey, look, one! One! -If you touch me...

I'm scared. -Open the box.

Come on. -Run. Close it!

(SIGHS)

Oh, look, they're coming.

Hello. -Hi.

How are you, Gloria? -Hello.

No. Forget it. You're going to sing.

"Gracie, eh... Gracie, right? Don Andrés, gracie".

Always grateful.

Thank you very much. I hope with all humility

to have achieved that "il suo locale

is the piu bello del mondo".

"Benvenuti", welcome...

to the Continental.

¡"Avanti"!

Everything is of good quality, raw material "buona".

The glass, the wood, the forging...

"grande ventanale".

Please.

"Per favore".

"Is it to your liking?" Ah and...

and tonight, Juliette, the prima donna of singing

who debuted in..."

In Paris. -In Paris!

"In Paris, will sing per noi". Eh, one last detail?

How are you, Mr. Abascal? Everything is very nice.

They are waiting for you at the old station.

For me?

(SHOUTS) Where is it?

Here we go with the shouting.

If there's good acoustics, damn it.

If you've hurt him, I'll kill you, son of a bitch.

Hey, calm down.

Calm down, man.

Alfonso.

What kind of way is this to come to my house? Huh?

(STUTTERS) Can I pray? -Of course, son.

What will our clients think of us?

Perico!

Do you want to kill me? Really?

He hasn't done anything, he's innocent.

The innocent always pay unjustly with guilt.

Perico!

Have we treated you badly?

No, no, sir. Hmmm...

And did you know the risk you were taking planning this trip?

He didn't plan that trip, I did.

She won't be yours.

Chano.

Explain to Mr. Abascal how we distill whiskey here.

Sure, boss.

The liquid

is heated in these tanks.

The vapor passes through here

and cools in these coils to return to its liquid form.

And everything goes back to the beginning, but improved.

We renovate the place, we make money together...

You pay off the debt and the place is yours again.

Do you know what the most important part of the process is?

The pressure.

If we don't control it,

we lose balance and everything goes to hell.

Do it.

Do it.

Perico!

No!

Perico, no! Bastard, son of a bitch!

I'm going to kill you!

I'm going to kill you!

(GLORIA CRIES) Poor boy...

Oh, poor boy. Gloria?

All good.

(Distant conversation)

I should have killed him.

I should have shot.

If you had done that, we'd all be dead.

(SCREAMS) God!

Alfonso, please, please...

"Please"...

We have to hold on.

We'll find the solution, there has to be one, but please.

All good? "Yes, all good".

Your father, who was playing and I tripped.

It's okay, daughter, it's okay.

If you ask for the fish, I'll give it to you. Hey, Perico hasn't arrived.

Perico is not coming. -What?

Slice it thin.

And a good presentation, make it appetizing.

Father! Father, where is Perico?

I don't know.

I don't know if this will be like Paris, but...

I'm very happy.

Me too.

Well, it doesn't seem like it.

Well, I have a lot on my mind.

Ah, I know, I gave Perico the day off to pack his bags.

What do you mean day off? What a nerve!

How can he leave on a day like today? "Buonasera"!

What a joy, the fantastic inauguration.

Full of people, incredible...

"And Juliette, Juliette bellisima".

The singer has to go to the dressing room, right?

Come on, Juliette.

It's true, there are a lot of people at the door.

So soon? We should open.

Yes, it's time, yes.

Will you do the honors?

Is everyone in position? -All controlled.

So many people! The guys already know.

No one enters who isn't invited.

If Baena wants to enter, it will be difficult.

(Shouts of surprise)

(Applause)

(Soft instrumental music)

Welcome.

Good evening.

(Soft blues music)

Relax, okay? It will pass.

Fa...

You missed.

(STUTTERS) A little more and I wouldn't tell it.

Yes, everything changes in a moment.

(STUTTERS) Can I leave?

(DENIES)

(STUTTERS) And Mr. Alfonso?

You have the food in the pantry.

I trust you, Perico.

Thank you.

She will like you more without a jacket.

Francisco, I'm very nervous. -Francesco!

They will hear you! -I don't know if I can go out there and sing.

I don't... -Shhh... Calm down.

Please. Let's see, one thing:

Out there are very important people.

You have to go out there. If you sing well,

you will become famous.

You will have a lot of work.

This is for you.

For me?

Everything is for you.

Do you think I like pretending to be "italiani"?

I don't care about going hungry anymore.

It's for you. -God...

What a mess you've gotten into.

(Knocking on the door)

"What are you doing? The prima donna's dressing room".

"Forward with the music. Forward!"

(Applause)

(Lively jazz music)

Welcome.

Welcome. Hello.

Thank you. No need to thank me.

It's just a handkerchief.

Get me one, boy.

Baena is outside, at the door. Perfect.

Let him wait. I'm still waiting for my money.

Hey, Benítez, want a drink?

Look at the mess you've made here.

If you raise your voice again I'll smash your head.

What are you having?

Bring me the decorator. -What a bastard.

Get us three, please.

How do I look?

You look beautiful.

Miss.

The boss wants to see you. -Oh, the boss wants to see me?

Sure, the boss wants to see me.

But now with the "inauguration" and the prima donna who's going to sing,

I can't now. "Later", okay? "Later, thank you".

All good, right? -Yes, yes, all very good.

We need to talk, but first things first.

Make the most of it, it's your night. -Yes.

How do you artists say? -Break a leg.

Well, break a leg, Juliette. Let's go.

"Forward".

(FRANCISCO) Bravo!

(SHOUTS) Bravo!

Are you deaf or what?

Let's go. -At least let me see her perform.

Let's go.

(Applause)

(Slow jazz music)

(JULIET SINGS)

(Lively jazz music)

I trust you.

Come on, come on, come on!

(SHOUTS)

(Stops the music)

(Murmurs)

What's happening? Ricardo!

Nothing, Alfonso drank and got nervous,

but everything's fine, go. Lower the gun!

Lower the gun! I'll kill you.

Move, Gloria. Alfonso, lower the gun.

They've burned everything!

(CRIES) Everything has burned. Burned, what?

What has burned? Everything, everything.

What? Everything.

(CRIES) Everything, everything.

(CRIES)

(GLORIA) Perico...

Perico. Perico.

("Downfall" - Lion)

I'm going to find who's responsible. You don't want to start a war.

Do it.

People confuse fear with respect.

That marks the difference between leading and deciding.

His girlfriend sleeps in his bed at my house.

But becoming a drunk again, I won't allow that.

I've made the decision to move forward.

To make El Continental a reference venue.

It's going to be very fun.

I'd sell my mother if I get a good price.

Don't even think about kissing me.

With money, you buy everything, but only if you have it.

For you, I'd be capable of killing. -Let it go!

Do it or get out of my house right now.

I had gotten my hopes up. About what?

Prepare the documentation.

No!

I'm here to talk to you!

(STUTTERS) Ladies, we have a problem.
