Corporación Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE) is a state-owned commercial company with special autonomy whose mission is to offer and guarantee the public radio and television service owned by the State. It is set up as a public limited company and its share capital is wholly owned by the State. RTVE is by law independent of any government, political party or company. It is accountable only to Parliament. It is managed by a board of directors made up of ten members elected by Parliament (Cortes).
