The islands have earned 49 blue flags for their beaches and 5 for their ports. All the islands have at least 1. The island of El Hierro got its first blue flag for La Restinga.

This year, more blue flags than ever before will wave over Canarian beaches. The islands have earned 54 awards for their beaches and ports, 2 more than in 2016. All of them, without exception, have at least one, now that El Hierro has its first blue flag for the beach at La Restinga. Gran Canaria has earned 4 more, and not lost any. However, Tenerife has lost 4 flags.
