Copa Jerez: A great selection of food with wines from Cádiz

Chefs and sommeliers from the seven best restaurants in the world take part in the Copa Jerez final. A competition that seeks the perfect harmony between recipes and wines from Jerez . Wines that can be paired with an infinite possibility of foods, as made clear at each edition of this event.

The rules are very simple: to create a menu consisting of a starter, main and dessert, and each dish has to be marinated with a wine from Jerez or a manzanilla wine.

In the kitchens of the Hospitality School of Jerez, the teams from the seven restaurants who have made it to this international final are put to the test. Last year, each one won the respective national stage of their country. Odentrum in Germany, En Rama in America, the Dutchman Podium Onder de Dom , the Danish Falsled Kro , for England The Ritz London , for Belgium, Humprhey and for Spain, Casa Marcial , from Arriondas, Asturias with the champion: Juan Luis García, the prestigious sommelier, passionate about wines from Jerez and winner of this contest in 2011 with Casablanca from Murcia.

The nerves are kicking in because the jury that will judge every dish and the flavours will be made up of highly-esteemed characters from the world of gastronomy.

The results will be announced tonight during the closing ceremony of the prestigious international award.
