Yoko Ono dedicates three pieces to Córdoba that show her more social side
This marks the first time three works by Yoko Ono are presented in Andalusia, as well as two "performances" with a "social and feminist¿ tone.
Specifically, the works that will be presented in Córdoba are "To see the sky. Cordoba Version" (2015-2017), "Mend piece in the Four Seasons" (1966-2017) and "Wish tree for peace" (1996-2017), this last one located at the entrance of the building.
Perhaps the most spectacular of the set is the first one, a blue staircase that gradually turns to white as the viewer approaches the top and also allows anyone who climbs it to see up close one of the skylights in the centre.
Additionally, the Asian-American artist has directed a "performance¿ programme which will show two historic performances by Ono for the first time in Córdoba, "Sky piece to Jesus Christ" and "Lighting piece¿.
To do so, the pieces will feature collaboration from the Advanced Music Conservatoire of Córdoba String Orchestra, the School of Dramatic Arts and the Mateo Inurria Art School, comprising a total of 32 volunteers to interpret a musical programme by Benjamin Britten and Frank Bridge.
