Seville opens the exhibition ANIMAL INSIDE OUT: wildlife uncovered

Seville is the first city in Spain to host the spectacular exhibition ANIMAL INSIDE OUT. The creators of BODY WORLDS, the well-known exhibition of human bodies, presents a collection of plastinated animals, an innovative preservation technique that enables us to see bones, arteries, nerves, organs, etc. What is under the skin of more than a hundred species.

In this "anatomical safari" we see real animals: bones, muscles, nerves, which, unlike mummies, we see in their volumes thanks to a process called "plastination", in which the water in body tissue has been replaced by silicone or resin. To discover "the beauty of everything we have under our skin", explains its creator and commissioner, Angelina Whalley.

At the Heidelberg Institute for Plastination, in Germany, she and her husband, both well-known scientists, became the creators of BODY WORLDS, the striking exhibition of human bodies. Now, they bring us a journey to the insides of a hundred animal species. The largest piece is an elephant weighing three and a half tonnes. The highest is a giraffe. The exhibition will be open at the Casino de la Exposición in Seville until 31 March, after which it will move on to other Spanish cities.
