Hundreds of people visit the newly opened ¿Nativity Museum of Mollina, Malaga¿ over the weekend
The Nativity Museum has just opened its doors in the town of Mollina in Malaga. During its first weekend open, it has welcomed around two thousand visitors. With five thousand square metres of premises, it is already the largest nativity museum in the world. It includes more than 1,000 figures from the most prestigious Spanish and international artists.
The opening of the Nativity Museum of Mollina establishes an important link with Constatino the Great, the first Roman Emperor to authorise Christian worship. According to Ensures Antonio Díaz, one of the cofounders, the museum is already the largest permanent nativity exhibition in the world. Its 5,000 square metres house more than 60 artistic nativities and around 1,000 figures and sculptures from recognised national and international artists.
Monumental nativities, such as that by Antonio Bernal, or for Christmas in Andalusia by the artist from Cadiz, Vicente Martínez. But there are also small nativities in a landscape devastated by war, or in the cathedral of Burgos, for example. And all of them admirable due to the detail of the figures, the landscape, their make-up, the scenes, depth and the perspective.
