Some 200 passengers wait onboard a faulty ferry to the Canary Islands since Tuesday
More than 200 passengers onboard on a Transmediterránea ferry have been waiting at the port of Cadiz since Tuesday to travel to the Canary Islands. The ship has broken down and the majority of the passengers have spent three nights onboard. The company started offering air tickets to passengers this morning.

The ship named "Albayzin" was late arriving in Cádiz on Sunday from the Canaries because of engine problems. Despite this, the over 200 passengers, 130 vehicles and over 40 animals embarked on Tuesday to set sail for the islands. But due to technical problems the departure began to be postponed from one day to another.
Passengers are complaining about the treatment they are receiving from the company. Transmediterránea has been providing plane tickets since this morning but those travelling by car or with pets are reluctant to leave them behind in the port of Cádiz without knowing when they will be reunited.
