It is estimated that 65 million people have had to flee from their homes due to war, violence, persecution or extreme poverty. The exhibition can be seen until 9 June at Bibataubín Palace.
The exhibition shows eleven suitcases that contain remnants of the lives of their owners. Sajad, Aladín, Imán, Suleika, Nya, Zeinab, Jeanne, Oboun, Karim, Morad and Libertad. Eleven names, eleven people with eleven stories of escaping from their homes and leaving their families due to war, persecution or hunger.
Now they're eleven more people added to the 65 million refugees that already exist in the world.
Along with the suitcases, which include texts written by Human Rights writers and activists, a dozen lives exhibited by the Spanish Advocate Foundation, in which we are reminded that we all have basic rights, such as the right to live.
