The Regional Government responds to the Supreme Court that the eco-tax of 2013 cannot fall on the consumer
Pilar García-Blanco, Extremaduran minister of Finance and Public Administration, underlines that the tax not only affected electrical companies but also any company that installed an electrical tower in Extremadura. Furthermore, implementation of the tax represented "the biggest exercise of joint fiscal responsibility that has ever been seen in Extremadura". With regard to the amount that would be paid by consumers, she indicated that this information will be released later.

In 2013 Extremadura collected 98.4 million euros for the tax on facilities, known as the "eco-tax". Of this amount, the minister of Public Administration, Pilar Blanco-Morales, did not want to say today how much this would have to be paid by consumers from Extremadura, although she has said that it will be a lot less "than some media outlets have indicated. Something false". She added that "we have calculated the amount, but, as we now have to negotiate and talk with the Supreme Court and the Ministry of Industry, I would prefer to release the numbers later".
Blanco-Morales said that they would defend ¿to the end¿ the legality of an eco-tax whose only purpose was to ¿tax those cases that affected those with the most¿.
