A court ruling obliges a Badajoz school to keep two twin brothers in the same class
After a year of litigation, Badajoz's Civil Court has ruled in favour of the boys' parents, who were asking the school and the Extremadura Education Department not to separate them, because this was causing them adjustment problems.

The twins' problems started in preschool, when they were allocated to different groups in CP Arias Montano, a state primary school in the city of Badajoz. . This caused developmental problems and anxiety for one of the children, according to the parents' lawyer, Segundo Berjano. The parents asked for the twins to be put in the same class but the school refused, even after being shown psychologists' reports recommending it. The parents then took the matter to court, which first issued a temporary ruling that the children should be together, and has now confirmed it with a final decision.
The Junta de Extremadura has accepted the ruling, while emphasising that the school did not break the law.
