The Ministry of Environment requests documentation again for the Declaration of Environmental Impact of the Monesterio mine
This is the fifth time, the last one being this past Thursday, that the Central Government requests complementary information from the proprietary company of the nickel mine in Aguablanca, which has been in the hands of Sacyr since the end of last year. The Declaration of Environmental Impact (DIA) resolution process, which started two years ago, is an essential requirement for mining activity to return to the Monesterio area, assuming that its result is favourable.

The Government delegate in Extremadura insists that a technical issue is delaying the DIA of Aguablanca, and considers that the matter "must not be easy considering that there are other declarations that have entered at a later time and have been solved".
The trade unions CC.OO. and UGT claim the Extremaduran people are and the more than 400 families who live off the mine are being ostracised. Carretero considers it "shameless" that the delegate blames the technicians, and Sánchez calls for the resignation of Cristina Herrera.
