The Ministry of Public Works and Transport recognises errors in the 'Oleg Naydenov' crisis

The report from the Commission for Maritime Accident and Incident Investigations divides out responsibilities and affirms that the ship's sudden departure into the sea and its distance from the coast played a role in its sinking.

It outlines that the fire and the sinking of the ship were caused by interlinking occurrences and hasty decisions. And it divides up faults: for the crew members, the Maritime Authority, firemen, etc. The only ones saved from the fire were those in the Port Services Control Centre whose answer, according to the report, was "reasonably" effective.

The succession of errors detailed in the report corresponds with the international complaint that was being dealt with at the time by Greenpeace.
