Four out of every ten unemployed people in the Canary Islands live in one of these four cities. Today their mayors have agreed with the Government of the Canary Islands to develop a technical roundtable to tackle plans directly relating to employment.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, La Laguna and Telde want to go beyond the active employment policies and have proposed a 4 million euro plan for investment, training, placement and guidance.
After the summer they will meet again to continue developing the project, whose financial statement could be included in next year's budget.
