Excitement at the Seville Festival following tribute to the Taviani brothers, living legends of European cinema
The European Cinema Festival enters its final stages. Tomorrow will see the unveiling of the Festival¿s winning list. In these last few hours, one of the most anticipated moments has finally arrived: the tribute to the Taviani brothers, living legends of Italian cinema and, with it, of European cinema as a whole... Paolo, the youngest brother, at the age of 83, is already in Seville to collect the ¿Giraldillo de Honor¿; his inseparable brother Vittorio was not able to travel from Italy due to health problems. Last night, another name took centre stage at the Festival: singer-songwriter Javier Ruibal, with a documentary covering his 35-year career in the music industry.
Tonight, Paolo Taviani will be collecting the ¿Giraldillo de Honor¿. The Festival will be screening his latest film "Una questione privata¿ tonight... The Festival will also be showing one of the gems of the Taviani brothers, that is the film "Padre Padrone", the emblem of their committed and poetic cinema.
Danish actress Trine Dyrholm is also in Seville. On Saturday, the actress will receive the last tribute of the Festival, which also features her latest film "Nico 1988¿ in its programming. And yet another familiar name in the run-up to the end of the Festival... Javier Ruibal, recently awarded the Premio Nacional de Músicas, and his documentary "Ruibal, por libre", being presented at the Festival. The documentary, directed by César Martínez Herrada, is a portrait of the 35-year music career of the singer-songwriter from Cadiz.
