The "2017 Romero Plan" has been set in motion to guarantee the safety of pilgrims travelling to El Rocío.
At eight in the morning, the Board put the ¿2017 Romero Plan¿ in motion. . . 6,000 police officers will guarantee the safety of the one hundred and nineteen confraternities that will make the pilgrimage to El Rocío. . . 27 have already started the journey. . .
The roads to El Rocío are essentially ready for the confraternities¿ passage. Those in charge of ¿Plan Romero¿ have verified this to be the case. This year, the amount of rain in winter has forced them to redouble their efforts to get the roads ready.
Nearly thirty or so confraternities are already making the pilgrimage. . . During this time, those closest to the hamlet are beginning their journey, like those from Isla Cristina, which have already started on their way.
The travellers can count on extra security this year. The version of this police application dedicated to the Romería de El Rocío pilgrimage which alerts the police of any incident along the roads, with instant geolocation, was presented for the first time.
The sounds for the Romería will be the piccolo and the small drum. For another year, according to municipal edict, the city council of Almonte prohibits non-traditional songs and dances.
