"La apariencia de lo real", from 20th century Spanish Realism to the Baroque.
Three generations of Spanish Realist painters have come together on the walls of the Thyssen Museum in Málaga. "La apariencia de lo real" suggests a sharing of perspectives between Spanish Realism from the second half of the 20th century and Baroque naturalism.

REDACCIÓN ANDALUCÍA
An exhibition comprising 54 paintings by artists such as Antonio López, Isabel Quintanilla, Claudio Bravo, César Galia and Manuel Franquelo sharing the same space with artists from past centuries, such as Francisco Zurbarán, Miguel de Pret, and Jacobus Vrel. The paintings have a space of more than 300 years between them; however, a surprising proximity can be observed amongst the artwork.
The collection ranges from the still life paintings that reflect the still lifes of the Spanish Baroque to parallel works with a more urban tone, with American influence. It¿s a reworking of Magical Realism, Hyperrealism or Photorealism. The richness of this movement as an aesthetic trend can currently be seen at the Thyssen Museum.
