Cherry trees are now in bloom in Jerte
The Cherry Blossom Festival has begun in the Jerte Valley in celebration of the more than one million blossoming cherry trees. During the opening ceremony of the scheduled events, the president of the Government of Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara, asked that the region continues sustaining the specialised tourism that this festival attracts, away form the more than fifteen days the cherries will be in bloom.

The Jerte Valley celebrates the Cherry Blossom Festival. More than a million trees cover the region in an authentic natural blanket, and for six days buses will be providing free travel to the different towns and villages of the valley. The president of the Government of Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara, has advocated for the region to keep encouraging the quality of tourism that this festival personifies.
