The memory of Jesús Asensio
The exhibition Los viajes de Jesús Asensio Ibáñez (The travels of Jesús Asensio Ibáñez) will open tonight at the former convent of Santo Domingo in La Laguna. It is an exhibition which gathers the photographs of a man who loved to capture places and moments at the start of the 20th century with his camera. A story with detective overtones.

Several rescued boxes that concealed a treasure. Stories and moments that reached the hands of Zero Memory, an association which saved them from obscurity. It took three years of work to restore these photographs and find out who was behind them. The hard work paid off and Tarek Ode, the director of the association, explains that they finally discovered his name: Jesús Asensio Ibáñez, a Valladolid man who lived and died in Tenerife.
Ode affirms that it was "intense work, which took almost three years." Thanks to him, we are able to explore early 20th-century Spanish and European cities.
The exhibition opens to the public today at the former convent of Santo Domingo, La Laguna (Tenerife).
