Lundin Mining, the Canadian multinational mining company which held the Aguablanca licence, has sold the company Río Narcea, which operated the mine, to Valoriza Minería, a subsidiary of Sacyr.

It will take over the exploration licences, drilling for nickel and other minerals. The Government has yet to approve the EIS to extend the mining operation. The Junta has responded cautiously to this acquisition.
