¿Gerardo Delgado. Learning from all things¿, it is the title of the extensive retrospective exhibition that the Andalusian Centre of Contemporary Art is offering on the Sevillian painter. An artist fundamental in the evolution of contemporary abstract art, Gerardo Delgado is still showcasing his passion for his work and he is one of the ones most brilliant and adventurous of our country... His career spans five decades, beginning in the sixties with his mobile period. ¿I wanted the spectator to not be a passive person, someone who was not limited to viewing but rather someone who acted on the work and transformed it¿
Architect in training, modifying spaces was his focus during the seventies ... The use of industrial fabrics arises... Light, colour and atmosphere are the essential concerns of this new stage... ¿It was about creating spaces so that the spectators entered inside them, surrounded them and found themselves, to some degree, wrapped by those coloured fabrics and by the lighting¿
