The second season of The Department of Time and Six Sisters, RTVEs main drama series at MIPTV in Cannes
From April 4th to 7th, RTVE will be present at a new edition of MIPTV in Cannes.
RTVE’s main offerings for this edition will be the series The Department of Time and Six Sisters. Furthermore, its new productions will also include Crime Times and the movie Broken kingdom, which has just premiered in cinemas in Spain.
As occurs in the other markets that it attends, RTVE will offer the rest of its catalog, which include series such as Carlos,King Emperor, Isabel and Acacias 38, which have had great success.
The Department of Time is opening its doors to its second season on TVE, and it is doing so with new and exciting adventures right across Spanish history. The most well-traveled squad in television consisting of Rodolfo Sancho, Aura Garrido and Nacho Fresneda returns with 13 new episodes in which we will go back in time to avoid changing our history. They will meet new colleagues, such as a police officer from 1981, nicknamed Pacino, played by Hugo Silva, who will come to 2016 in pursuit of a serial killer.
Throughout their travels, they will meet historic characters such as El Cid, Cervantes, Napoleon, Houdini, Christopher Columbus or Philip II, amongst others. Moreover, they will try to heal old wounds between the staff of the department and will fight for it to remain as it always was.
This new season of The Department of Time is preceded by a whole movement led by its fans on social media. It has become a cult series and a real phenomenon whose reach extends even beyond the TV screen. Its followers have even created products from the series itself and put them on sale in the first official merchandising shop with products designed by the fans.
The daily series Six Sisters, is a story about overcoming hardship, struggles, false appearances and, in particular, about love and heart. It is set in the Spain of the 1920s, in a period of great contrasts, with many social inequalities in which life is not easy, particularly for women.
Crime Times is an investigation series lasting 13 episodes. In each of them a newspaper editorial office is recreated that investigates a crime that will be published in El Caso, a daily newspaper with one of the largest circulations in Spain in the 1960s.
RTVE will also be present with its international channels: TVE Internacional, a general interest channel to share our culture and lifestyle with the world; 24 Horas, a news channel in which viewers can follow all of the news from Spain and the world; and the new high-definition channel STAR HD, which is only broadcast to the Americas and which offers our best drama and entertainment in High Quality.
RTVE’s sales team will be led by Rodolfo Domínguez, sales director; Rafael Bardem, deputy director of program sales and María Jesús Pérez, deputy director of channel sales.
