With the Fourth of July approaching and 2026 marking the 250th anniversary of the United States' Declaration of Independence, in this week's broadcast we examine the often overlooked role played by Spain in the American Revolutionary War. Historian and researcher Kristine Sjostrom tells us all about Spain's support for the Thirteen Colonies, which was initially a secret, and the key Spanish figures involved, such as Bernardo de Gálvez, Fernando de Leyba and Diego de Gardoqui.

On another note, and as high temperatures continue to afflict Spain, we discuss fire prevention and forest management. After 2025 went down in history as the worst year of the century in terms of wildfires in our country, we are joined by Professor Víctor Resco de Dios, a leading expert in this area, to discuss what administrations can do to prevent them.
