Frank Smith talks to Carmen Posadas, one of Spain's best-selling authors. The daughter of a Uruguayan diplomat, she talks about her life in different parts of the world: in England where she was educated, in the Soviet Union where she married for the first time at the age of 19, and here in Spain where she at first she was well known in the glam mags, first for her beauty and then in the 1990's as the wife of the Governor of the Bank of Spain, who had to resign after it was alleged he was involved in a tax scandal. But now a widow--and a grandmother--she has embarked on what she calls "the extra time that life gives you" after sixty, when she can concentrate on her own things: her writing and doing what takes her fancy (12/12/13).
