José Chamizo presents his latest work: "M.J. (Death in white and green)". A play about Manuel José García Caparrós
This 4 December 2017 marks 40 years since the death of Manuel José García Caparrós, who was killed during a demonstration calling for self-governance of Andalusia. A play written by José Chamizo, the former ombudsman, that pays tribute to this Favourite Son of Andalusia who died from a bullet wound in 1977. The play takes place in present-day and features one of his sisters as the main protagonist. It also pays tribute to a family who keeps fighting to preserve the memory of García Caparrós.

"M.J. García Caparrós (Death in green and white)", a play by José Chamizo that has just been released. The former Andalusian Ombudsman, who is also a theatre director and playwright, has written a play featuring the sister of the Favourite Son of Andalusia as the main protagonist. It takes place in present-day and focuses on the memories that the family has about the events surrounding the murder of Manuel José on 4 December, 1977 during a demonstration held in Málaga calling for Andalusian autonomy.
It pays tribute to García Caparrós and a family who is fighting to keep his memory alive. It is also in recognition of the Andalusian community, who mobilised forty years ago to demand its autonomy.
