The mayor of Coria has made a formal complaint to the National Police as a result of these strong odours, which he fears may be harmful to one¿s health. Substances have been detected in the sewage network that may be coming from illegal dumping.

Technicians could be seen surveying the area this Monday morning. While residents have been complaining of the unbearable odours, they are most fearful of the effects that they could have on their health. They claim that about 200 residents have had to seek medical attention. The Government of Andalusia is asking residents to remain calm while pointing out the importance of keeping homes well ventilated and seeking medical attention for any symptoms.
