The 54 UME crew members who have taken part in rescue operations linked to the earthquake in Mexico return.

The 54 military UME  (military emergencies unit) crew members arrived at the base in Morón de la Frontera in Seville today. They have spent 15 days in Mexico , taking part in rescue operations of the bodies of the victims of the earthquake ; among them, Jorge Gómez Varus , from Malaga.

At about midday, the Spanish Air force aircraft landed with the 54 UME soldiers onboard, 44 of which based in Seville. They took part in the rescue operations of the earthquake in Mexico.

Upon landing, they were welcomed by the authorities and were then reunited with their families. They have spent 15 days in the Federal District,  where they have rescued 40 earthquake victims, among them, Jorge Gómez Varus from Malaga, from an office building. With them they brought cutting and drilling equipment and 4 dogs that helped the team in the search efforts. Today, the king has congratulated them for their work.
