Big day for the Canarian festival celebrating the Cristo de La Laguna

Today is the main festival day celebrating the Cristo de La Laguna in the city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna. The worshipping of the Christ of La Laguna begins with moving the Pennon of the Conquest from the town hall to the Cathedral plaza. Mass was given at a church presided over by the bishop of the Diocese of Tenerife and the archbishop of Zaragoza. Afterwards, the procession will return the religious image to its shrine in Plaza del Cristo de La Laguna. The holiday will close with a display of fireworks.
