The TV series "Game of Thrones" sees increased visitors to the Seville Alcázar

The Alcázar of Seville is one of the most visited monuments in Andalusia, but visitor numbers have rocketed in recent years. As the scene of one of the kingdoms of the successful TV series "Game of Thrones", this palace has turned into a dream destination for many fans throughout the world.

Roberto is one of the tour guides specialised in Game of Thrones. He shows the Alcázar by mixing the real history of the oldest used palace in the world with the fiction from the series with more than 23 million viewers. With this publicity, the monument has broken visitor records. This year, one million people have already gone beyond these walls, where the Catholic Monarchs, Charles V and Isabella II, once lived.

At present, the tours based on the HBO television series are more popular among foreigners, eager to see one of the key scenes from the series, shot in Peter I¿s Chamber of the Ambassadors. Special arrangements have been put in place to accommodate the visitors. What we still do not know is whether we will see the gardens in the eighth and final season of a series, which also has other Andalusian settings such as the Italica, the Seville Royal Dockyards and the Almodóvar del Río castle, in Córdoba.
