Guadalupe Plata round off the POP CAAC tonight, following yesterday¿s reappearance by Dogo.

The POP CAAC concludes tonight in Seville. So far this summer, the gardens at the Monastery of the Cartuja have acted as one of Andalusia¿s finest stages. The series of concerts rounds off today with Guadeloupe Plata. The group from Úbeda fuses rock, jazz and flamenco. Last night it was the turn of the mythical singer Dogo, who was joined in Seville by top-class guests.

Juan Diego Fuentes, Dogo, managed to tell the history of 1980s Seville better than anyone else.

The Álameda de Hércules square was very different to the one we now know. Underworlds that fused with urban poets. Dogo was there, and it was there that he met Juanjo Pizarro, the guitarist for the mythical rocker Silvio... And it was there that Dogo y los Mercenarios was formed. But Dogo has never left the stage.

Last night he reappeared, with Juanjo on the guitar. Between them they composed the discs of Dogo y los Mercenarios. They hadn¿t performed together for eight years. Juanjo has played with the best: Pata Negra, Camarón, Silvio...

Last night was also a chance to remember Cucharían, the band¿s drummer, who recently passed away. For anyone who missed Dogo last night there¿s another chance to see him at the Puerto de Santa María today, and again in Estepona this Saturday.
