Day of mourning in Vejer de la Frontera in Cádiz, and in the Sevillian village of La Algaba, for the three victims of the fire that happened over the weekend in El Palmar, in which a 45-year-old man, his five-year-old daughter and a friend of the family all died. A family which, incidentally, has decided to donate the organs of the deceased little girl. Meanwhile, the mother is still in hospital in critical condition, and the other 9-year-old son is relatively stable.

José, Carmen, his two sons and a friend of the family were, like every year, spending their vacation at their home in El Palmar.

Until early morning on Sunday, a candle was left lit on the plastic porch table. The fire ended up spreading to a wooden beam, and from there to the whole house.

The Vejer Town Council has instituted 3 days of official mourning. In the village of La Algaba, where the family resided, all official proceedings have been suspended and another two days of mourning have been announced.
