The corpse of a woman aged around 60 with stab wounds has been found today at her home in La Caleta de Vélez, about 40 kilometres from Málaga. Her son, who confessed to the police, is being held at Torre del Mar police station.

It was 8 am when the police cordoned off the street in the Brisas de la Caleta residential development. At number 11, funeral services removed the corpse of a 60 year old woman with several stab wounds to neck. Her former partner found her and alerted the police.
Soon after, some local fishermen came across her son on the promenade. He was on his way to Torre del Mar police station, where he confessed to killing his mother.
The alleged perpetrator is 35 years old and lived with the victim in the house where the corpse was found. He remains in custody at Torre del Mar police station, from where he will be brought before the court.
