The investigation began after report filed by the father of one of the victims at the El Ejido police station, who provided details of conversations with a clear sexual content between his son and an adult on an instant messaging application. Based on the evidence, the Civil Guard managed to identify the man arrested and found that during the summer camps held between 2013 and 2016 he had been in contact with 2,000 minors. This number was later reduced to 100, and of these 16 were victims although files of 13 have been found on the hard drive of his computer.

He always repeated the same formula, first he gained their trust during the camp and then initiated conversations by telephone.

The man is currently released with charges, accused of crimes of sexual abuse, corruption of minors and possession of child pornography.
