A 40-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing his baby and injuring his wife, the mother of their child.
The Civil Guard has arrested a 40-year-old man accused of smothering his child, an 8-month-old baby. Apparently, the man was attempting to stifle the child¿s cries after beating his 31-year-old wife. The woman, who is three months pregnant, has been hospitalized.

A new case of chauvinist violence which raises the number of children killed in our country to six. The baby¿s 31-year-old mother received a brutal beating that has kept her in the hospital.
In Arcos, where this family lived, the residents held a moment of silence to condemn what happened. The detainee, about 40 years old, who had no record of previous gender-based violence, will foreseeably be brought to trial this Friday.
