Extremadura sees 3,800 more unemployed persons during the first quarter of the year, according to the Labour Force Survey (EPA)

The unemployment rate in Extremadura raises 2.7 per cent between January and March to a total of 145,200 people, or 29.23%, the highest in among Span's regions and only ahead of the autonomous city of Melilla.

Extremadura closes the first quarter of the year with 3.800 more unemployed persons, 2.7 per cent more than the end of 2016, which makes a total of 145,200 and a rate of 29.23%, among the highest in Spain, lower only than Melilla, according to the Labour Force Survey (EPA).

The EPA shows a drop in employment of 1.84%, bringing the total to 351,400 people.
