Costalero support centre Science to the service of those who carry the tronos or pasos.

What happens underneath a Holy Week paso?; How does a costalero feel the weight of a paso or trono?; or how should a lift be performed? These are just some of the questions that the Costalero support centre of Granada answers scientifically. The centre uses new technologies to teach the Easter fraternities how to achieve the perfect lifting-height balance.

Chiropody, nursing, nutrition, breathing and biomechanical physiotherapy: everything so that the leader of the brotherhood can know the strength of each costalero and oversee a correct distribution. When carrying the weight of a trono or paso, posture is everything. A biomechanical analysis allows us to see what the costalero feels underneath the float.

It¿s no mystery, the seventh vertebra that sticks out below the nape is used to load the weight. The Costalero support centre in Granada aims to relieve the overstrains and, especially, to prevent injuries.
