The Board of Extremadura considers the increase of the budget allocated to animal sanitation key to reducing the prevalence of this disease amongst the cattle and goats in the region to 0.19%, according to the analyses in this first trimester, which have resulted in the loss of nearly 750 animals out of the 385.000 tested.
The Board considers the cutting back of funds during the last legislative period to be a "mistake" because, they added, monitoring over the cohabitation of the cattle stock and game in the country, one of the main sources of infection should be constant.
