A "priority" commitment from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport: to boost and provide "immediate solutions" to all aspects of the project that have been paralysed by the construction companies, according to Íñigo de la Serna.

This morning, the minister visited the viaduct on the river Almonte and met with the president of the Board of Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara. Also present were advisers to the regional Executive, parliamentary spokesmen in the Assembly of Extremadura, trade unions and employer organisations from Extremadura. They delineated the following commitments: 2020 as the date in which there would be availability to electrify the line, the beginning of 2019 as the date when work would be completed, an investment of 250 million euros during the course of 2017, and lastly, the goal of projects being available for bid that same year.
