Extremadura attends the Presidents' Conference with the principle of regional solidarity under its arm
Finance minister Pilar Blanco-Morales, emphasised this morning in Madrid that autonomous financing can only be sustained through the principle of solidarity. She will therefore request an end to discrimination in cases such as benefit funds and inheritance tax.

The Finance minister stated that when autonomous funds are distributed, it is vital to remember that "taxes are paid by people and companies, not regions". She therefore asks for a fair distribution for everyone. She also stated that in Extremadura, for example, the regional government pays for 80 per cent of dependency benefits.
