The Minister for Health called for calm on TVE's 'Los Desayunos',  explaining that they have merely ordered an expert report to evaluate whether medicine copayment processes should be changed.

On TVE's 'Los Desayunos', Dolors Montserrat attempted to end the controversy. According to her, the Government is not planning to raise copayments on medicines for pensioners who receive a pension of more than 18.000 euros. But she added that it is open to studying changes to the processes involved, and she acknowledged that an expert study on the subject has been commissioned.

At present, pensioners receiving up to 18.000 euros a year pay a maximum of 8 euros for medicines. Those receiving 18.000 to 100.000 euros pay a maximum of 18 euros, and those receiving over 100.000 pay a maximum of 60 euros per month.
