The Union of Extremadura demands that the general director of Agriculture resigns after the way he has managed bovine tuberculosis

The agrarian organisation claims that the head of the department¿s only focus in the campaign against tuberculosis is on slaughtering and immobilising livestock. This, they stress, generates a huge economic loss. They regret that these same strict measures are not taken on wild animals such as boar or deer.

The Union of Extremadura has attacked the current head of the overall management of Livestock, Antonio Cabezas. They have pointed out that tuberculosis remains prevalent in 12 per cent of farming exploitations, in spite of slaughtering and immobilising livestock, even if they test negative. They ask for the control to also be applied to wild fauna.
