7. A dream come true and the continuation of Gaudí’s work

The tower of Jesus Christ, standing at 172.5 metres tall, makes the Sagrada Família the tallest Catholic church in the world. Carlos del Amor climbs to a height of 54 metres to explain how 21st-century technology has enabled what Gaudí imagined 144 years ago, and why, despite this milestone, the work is not yet complete: the Glory façade is still to be finished.

Through three interactive episodes—Nativity, Passion and Glory— the special programme “Sagrada Familia: 100 Years After Gaudí” reveals the secrets of a building that has been under construction for over 140 years. The Sagrada Família has survived wars and pandemics and has become the tallest Catholic church in the world.
