Carlos del Amor explores how Gaudí turned the Sagrada Família into a summary in stone of the Catholic faith, readable by any visitor.
03/06/2026 00:01:00The tower of Jesus Christ, standing at 172.5 metres tall, makes the Sagrada Família the tallest Catholic church in the world. Carlos del Amor climbs to a height of 54 metres to explain how 21st-century technology has enabled what Gaudí imagined 144 years ago, and why, despite this milestone, the work is not yet complete: the Glory façade is still to be finished.
Through three interactive episodes—Nativity, Passion and Glory— the special programme “Sagrada Familia: 100 Years After Gaudí” reveals the secrets of a building that has been under construction for over 140 years. The Sagrada Família has survived wars and pandemics and has become the tallest Catholic church in the world.
