English Language Broadcast   Rare books in Alcalá de Henares, birthplace of Cervantes 17/06/2021 38:10

After a quick look at current events in Spain we visit a bookstore in Alcalá de Henares, the town just east of Madrid where Spain's great writer Miguel de Cervantes was born. There we discover how a new generation of booksellers is continuing and modernizing a family business, the Librería Capitel. We also visit the town of Aranjuez, in the south of the region of Madrid, to enjoy the famous concerto by Joaquín Rodrigo. Composed in 1939 and inspired in the town and its gardens, the recording we offer listeners is the one featuring the great Spanish flamenco guitarist, Paco de Lucía.
