Justin Coe talks to Bob Seeley, a veteran American boogie-woogie piano player performing this week at Madrid's Café Central jazz club [www.cafecentralmadrid.com], where he and Catalan pianist Lluís Coloma have occupied the entire stage with their twin grand pianos. Born in New York and raised in Detroit, Seeley as a teenager heard and met many of the great boogie-woogie and jazz pianists whose names have gone down in the history of 20th century American music--major figures such as Albert Ammons, Pete Johnson, Art Tatum, and Meade Lux Lewis, with whom he became friends. Seeley and Coloma, who arrived in Madrid from festival dates in Switzerland, are presenting their new album "International Boogie Woogie International Explosion," recorded live at the Café Central in August of 2011 (25/05/12).
