Los dúos están de moda en Eurovisión 2015. Lituania competirá en el Festival con la pareja formada por Monika Linkytė y Vaidas Baumila, que interpretarán el tema This Time (Esta vez).

Así nació el dúo

El dúo fue elegido en Eurovizija, la preselección nacional. Durante 8 semanas, la televisión pública LRT ha buscado, de forma separada, tema y artista para representar al país báltico. Aunque en un principio se pensó en un cantante individual, finalmente, los espectadores de televisión y un jurado profesional han optado por el dueto formado por Monika y Vaidas para interpretar This Time, seleccionada con anterioridad.

Ambos competían de forma separada, pero tanto el público como el autor de la canción, Vytautas Bikus, se quedaron impresionados al verlos actuar juntos. Por ello, la LRT decidió que Monika y Vaidas participaran como dúo. Juntos se subirán al Wiener Stadthalle en la segunda semifinal, el 21 de mayo.

Dos trayectorias muy distintas

La música es la pasión de Monika. Comenzó a tocar el piano a los cuatro años y desde entonces no ha parado de formarse. Además, ha participado en festivales, conciertos y programas de televisión. Por su parte, Vaidas es cantante y actor. Saltó a la fama en 2005, tras quedar tercero en el reality show Dangus. Un año más tarde, en 2006, lanzó su primer álbum Ką Tu Mėgsti?.
