RTVE presents its latest fiction productions at MIPCOM 2017
I Am Alive and To Serve and Protect are RTVEs main new fiction developments for the new edition of MIPCOM, to be held in Cannes from 16 to 19 October. Furthermore, this edition will serve as a framework for the presentation of Clan, a new childrens channel for the Américas, which can already be seen in Colombia.
I Am Alive is a weekly series that starts with an unusual event: Andrés Vargas is a police inspector who dies, by mistake, whilst chasing a serial killer who has already murdered five women. However, he will have the opportunity to return to life five years later, in the body of another police officer, played by the well-known actor, Javier Gutiérrez. The series, full of unexpected twists, places the emphasis on human stories. Disputes and emotions permeate the entire story.
The series is a hit in Spain, where it is the leading show on prime-time television on Thursdays, featuring an average audience of more than 2.5 million viewers.
To Serve and Protect is a daily series that portrays everyday life at a police station in a southern suburb of Madrid, with the accent placed on the more human side of those working for our safety. The plot will revolve around the main characters, two female police officers, their colleagues and the cases that must be resolved. Beyond the police intrigue, To Serve and Protect places the focus on human relationships and feelings.
Another new feature for this market is the presentation of If I Were You, the first interactive transmedia series produced in Spain. This is an innovative project, selected by The Witt and produced by RTVE in collaboration with Atomis Media, in which the user can interact with the characters from the series, since each week the public will decide how the plot will progress.
RTVE will also present other new fiction developments that have been released, such as Queens, Santiago. The Paths End iFamily and the second season of Víctor Ros; as well as other productions from its extensive catalog, which include daily series that have become an international success, such as Acacias 38, Six Sisters and TV movies such as Princess Paca and 22 Angels. We might also mention other grand high-quality productions such as Isabel and Carlos, King Emperor.
