The Churrero Crime took place in 2004 when Antonio Romero and his 80-year-old wife were brutally attacked while sleeping in their home in Chiclana de la Frontera. After 10 years, authorities concluded that the killers would have been criminals who specialise in home robberies.

A trail of blood from one of the assailants proved decisive in solving the case. Thanks to advances in forensic science and international police collaboration, this travelling Balkan criminal organization has been stopped; criminals who raided the victims¿ house in search of their safe. The four detainees only managed to steal €10,000 that was stored under the bed. These arrests bring an end to one of the longest-lasting murder investigations for Police in Cádiz.
