Los ecos del boom de la radio, the posthumous book written by Santiago Talaya, comes out this weekend

Los ecos del boom de la radio (¿Echoes of the Radio Boom¿) is the title of a book written by our colleague Santiago Talaya, who died a year ago today. It was completed in 2007, although he later made some revisions. Until now, the book had NOT been edited, but thanks to his widow, it will see the light of day this weekend.

Los ecos del boom de la radio (¿Echoes of the Radio Boom¿) is an analysis of the evolution of Spanish radio from Franco¿s dictatorship to José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero¿s rise to power. The book discusses the background of large radio chains, formats, major radio stars and the decisions made by the different players in the development of this media outlet.

The book was published by the book publisher ¿Los Papeles del Sitio¿. The work will be presented in Islantilla, Lepe; the municipality in Huelva saw the birth of Santiago Talaya and the place where he died a year ago today. The full proceeds from the book will go to the Spanish Association Against Cancer, a disease that struck him hard, although he managed to fend it off successfully a few years ago. His big heart, however, could not cope, leaving us at only 42 years old.
