The only grocery store in the town of Tahal, in Almería, closes.

As of a few weeks ago, the over 350 neighbours of Tahal, in Almería, are now without the only grocery store that remained in this mountain town, after the retirement of the store¿s owner. The town's Council has gotten to work for the opening of another similar establishment as soon as possible. They have offered a municipal locale for a monthly rent of 100 euros.

In the Almerian village of Tahal, the shopping lists now have to be planned in advance, since the closing of its only remaining grocery store a few weeks ago. A situation that is particularly difficult for the more elderly people, who are the majority in this town. To try to find a solution to the problem the town¿s Council has made a public announcement, offering a locale to be rented for a symbolic rate, and there has already been response.

Right now the cupboards are being filled on Wednesdays, however in a few days a new entrepreneur will be chosen to open the doors of the new grocery store and start a new life in the Los Filabres mountains.
