Eduardo Pascual is considered to be the most important commission agent of this corruption case and one of the most-wanted Spanish fugitives.

He managed Fortia Vida, integrated into the holding company Vitalia, which was investigated for the alleged illegal overriding commissions of millions of euros that they were paying middlemen for managing the ERE case. In his declaration before Judge Alaya, Pascual said that the Socialist Party of Catalonia was behind the business, and that 18 of the 98 million euros that Fortia made went to pay off 4 businessmen linked to that party.

The judge sent him to prison, where he spent 15 months, which he then left under provisional release after paying a bail of 11 thousand euros. Then he left the country. During his escape, he had 4 different nationalities, he changed his name and he got married several times. Pascual was also being sought after by the National Court as the former president of Eurobank, for which he was also under suspicion for fraudulent bankruptcy in 2003. Now he¿s waiting to be extradited.
